Prudential California Realty agent Brenda Flick is inviting the public to attend the 34^th Annual Sunwood Street Faire, a community-wide garage sale that is scheduled for July 28 and July 29. Approximately 200 sellers will be participating in the event, which will take place near the intersections of El Toro Road & Toledo Way and El Toro Rd & Serrano Road, in Lake Forest.

“To say that the sale is highly anticipated is a bit of an understatement,” laughed Flick. “I typically start getting calls and emails from shoppers starting in March or April every year asking for the dates. People come from all over the state, and we even get some from out of state who plan their vacations around it.”

There will be an endless array of items for sale at the event, from toys and clothing, to antiques, cars and boats. Adding to the street faire experience, some homeowners even sell hot dogs, egg rolls, cookies, coffee and cold drinks. One homeowner’s egg rolls have become so famous that, although she typically makes over 2,000 of them to sell at the event, she usually runs out before noon.

“What makes this so special is the residents of Sunwood,” says Flick. “There are only 237 homes in the tract but the sale usually averages more than 150 vendors, with many homes having multiple sellers. Saturday is the biggest day, so people who are planning on attending should definitely get here early, car pool, plan to park in the surrounding neighborhoods and wear comfortable shoes.”

The sale has become so large that it has been featured on some of the major TV stations in the area over the past few years. “My neighbors have told me they saw coverage of the sale on CNN and even heard Ryan Seacrest mention it on his radio show,” added Flick.

Flick has been a successful real estate professional since 1979 and has served the Sunwood community for many years. A graduate of California State University in Long Beach, she is a long-term resident of Sunwood and a strong presence in her neighborhood.
