Prudential Helps Bring Clean Drinking Water to Africa

prudential santa barbaraBy supporting the Third Annual Derby Day wine tasting to benefit the BOSO Foundation, the agents and staff from Prudential California Realty’s Montecito and Santa Barbara offices made a substantial and positive impact on the fight to bring clean drinking water to Africa.

The event was held at the Santa Barbara Polo Club in Carpinteria with the specific goal of constructing two new wells in Uganda. Approximately 300 people attended the event, which featured an array of Santa Barbara’s finest wines, hors d’oeuvres and mint juleps.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who made this event a success,” said Kyle Kemp, manager of Prudential’s Santa Barbara and Montecito offices. “The generosity that I witnessed from our agents, neighbors and friends makes me proud to be a part of this community.”

The Buy One Save One Foundation was formed to provide safe drinking water to those who live in areas where the water is either tainted, too far away or too deep. One of the charity’s principal partners is the Jinja Children’s Hospital, a facility that originally had no running water available for the hundreds of people it serves. As a result of the 2011 Derby Day, the foundation was able to begin construction on the hospital’s first well.

“It’s really gratifying to see that our efforts can make such a huge difference in so many people’s lives,” added Kemp.
