Prudential Makes a Difference for Child Burn Survivors

During a recent meeting of the Los Angeles chapter of Prudential California Realty’s The Charitable Foundation, a unanimous vote resulted in the Children’s Burn Foundation receiving a $5,000 donation. The decision was made after Carol Horvitz, executive director of the Children’s Burn Foundation, presented a video to the board of directors.

“I am over the moon happy as a result of this donation,” said Horvitz, “and I would like to thank everyone at Prudential for their generosity and support.”

The Children’s Burn Foundation was formed to prevent the pain and trauma of burn injuries to children. With state of the art reconstructive treatment, emergency assistance, a broad range of counseling, education and support services, the foundation reaches more than 50,000 children and their families every year.

“The work that is done by the Children’s Burn Foundation is nothing short of miraculous,” said Dianne Merryl, a residential specialist and board chairman for The Charitable Foundation.

Kathy King, Prudential’s regional manager of the San Fernando and San Gabriel valleys, commented, “It’s wonderful to be in a position where we can provide support for charities like this. I’m proud to say that this is just a small sample of the fundraisers, programs and services our foundation sponsors to benefit the community.”

Backed by the dedicated agents at Prudential, The Charitable Foundation supports local organizations that promote health, education, community, and the environment. Officially known as Prudential’s The Charitable Foundation/Agent Community Outreach organization, the charity has provided over 1000 grants, in excess of $4 million, to make a beneficial and constructive impact on the community.
