Orange County

Orange County is America’s most famous suburbia. Although Orange County does not have one particularly major city, it has several large cities made famous by television shows, tourist attractions and sports teams. It is the third most populated county in the state of California. Its 789.4 square miles are constantly buzzing with tourist attractions, large business, educational opportunities, and family, recreational and entertainment activities.

Within the county borders are several large companies that provide hundreds of job opportunities, particularly in the technology, fashion and retail industries. Seven Orange County companies were put on the Fortune 500 list for 2010. These companies include Spectrum Group International in Irvine, Ingram Micro in Santa Ana and Western Digital in Lake Forest.

Orange County families can rest assured that their children are receiving a quality education in any of the states 28 school districts. In 2010, 48 Orange County elementary schools won the California Distinguished School award and, in 2009, 31 middle and high schools won. The award is a prestigious one based on test scores and awarded to only 10% of the state’s schools every year.

Orange County’s most famous attribute is its 40 miles of beautiful coastline. Residents can enjoy any water sport imaginable from boating to jet skiing, paddle surfing to wind surfing. South County has very laid-back beach towns that are popular spots for surfing, camping and BBQing. The beach cities of San Clemente, Dana Point and San Juan Capistrano have a very relaxed feel. Residents recognize each other on the street and say hello and there is a strong focus on family and community values.

Orange County’s northern coast cities are much more luxurious. Newport Beach and Corona Del Mar are peppered with gorgeous multi-million dollar homes with stunning architecture and even more unbelievable ocean views. Fashion Island in Newport Beach has some of the best high end shopping and restaurants in the state. Crystal Cove in Newport Beach is one of the many beautiful state beaches that are perfect for hiking, snorkeling and scuba diving, horse back riding and biking.

Residents of Orange County never experience a dull moment. Disneyland Resort, Knotts Berry Farm and Wild Rivers are centrally located and provide endless family fun. Sports fans will enjoy watching the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim at Edison Field and the Anaheim Ducks at the Honda Center. OC residents need not travel up to Hollywood to enjoy live entertainment. The Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa hosts concerts, Broadway musicals, comedy shows and dance programs all year round. Right across the street residents can enjoy the superior shopping and eating experiences offered by South Coast Plaza.

If you want to live amongst the excitement of Orange County, Prudential can help. Houses in Orange County range in price from $250,000 to $4 million. Mansions, single family homes and condos are available for families of all sizes and income.
